Good morning, teachers! My name is Zhang Yayuan, you can call me Mary. I’m twelve years old. I’m a friendly girl from Class 6 Grade 6 in Xi’an Gaoxin No.2 Primary School.

I want to be a middle school student in Xi’an Gaoxin No.1 Middle School. Because it is one of the best schools in Xi’an. The school is really beautiful, there are many tall trees and colorful flowers in it. Teachers are strict but kind. I think I can be a better girl with their help. What’s more, the school is near my home, so I can walk to school every day.

I have many advantages. I am the monitor of our class, I always help others. I am friendly, so I have many friends. We can learn together, play together and grow up together. I enjoy staying with my friends. My best friend is Lily, she is tall and beautiful. She has long hair and big eyes. She likes reading English stories, so her English is very good. We often practice English together, and she can help me with my English. She is my best friend forever. I also have some shortcomings. I'm a little picky food. But I believe I can get rid of it in the future.

My hobby is playing basketball. I often play basketball with my friends in a big gym on Sunday afternoon. I like basketball, because I think it is interesting. Basketball needs teamwork, and it can make me healthy.

And now, I’ll tell you about my family. There are three people in my family, my father, my mother and I. My father is tall and strong. He is a businessman. He often goes to other countries, so he is very busy. He teaches me how to use time efficiently. My mother is pretty, and she has long black hair. She’s a hard-working worker. She is very rigorous, I learned a lot from her. I love my family very much!

I live in Xi’an with my family. Xi’an is my hometown. It is one of the oldest cities in the world and it has a very long history. If you come to Xi’an, you can’t miss the Big Goose Pagoda. It is a good place for us to visit. In Xi’an we have lots of delicious food such as Chinese hamburgers, cold noodles and so on. People in Xi’an are very friendly and warm-hearted. I love Xi’an!
