Good morning(afternoon), ladies and gentlemen:

Today I’m going to make a speech “More than a competition” to you.

First, this competition is not about competing with each other. It is a good chance to make new friends. All the Children here are very kind, so we can have fun together.

Second, this competition can practice our English. It not only helps us be brave but also encourages us to face any challenge.

Third, this is also a stage to show ourselves. When we are on the stage, we can share with others. What’s more, when we are here watching others on the stage, we can also learn from others. This is really good for us to study well.

The forth is the most important reason. China is a big country and more and more counties start to know us with meeting and trade. English is the international language. It can be spoken in any counties. So if we learn English well, we can even join the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. With this, we will also do good things for our homeland.

Well, I really enjoy my time here. For me, standing here is not just for a medal, it is for something more meaningful. Thank you.
