A Trip to Australia

That day, we woke up early to go to the zoo. The birds were chirping and sunlight was peeking through the window and shining on my blankets. I got up quickly and washed. After a tasty breakfast, we were on the way to the zoo.

Jonathan and Mom started a conversation while I started to play with the window. I was bored to death and kept trying to keep my eyes open. But when I started to think of what we'd see in the zoo, I was excited again. I kept picturing me with the animals until the car screeched to a stop and we started our were zoo adventure.

Mom gave the cashier the tickets and the money to buy a small bag of animal food. The smell hit me when I walked into the zoo. It smelled like animals and rotten grass. As we walked into the zoo, I found out this was actually like a small farm. All the animals were vegetarians and some of them walked around peacefully.

I walked into to the goat exhibit and started feeding the baby goats. The animal food smelled like fresh grass and the goats loved it. They ate it like the way I ate chips. After a while, I had a nice little circle of goats around me begging for food. But the animal food was NOT the baby goat's favorite food. We filled bottles of milk as we watch goats fight over bottles of milk. A small and furry thing gently nudged my legs. I looked down and saw a cute white goat looking at me!!! I quickly bent down and fed it. A black baby goat started bumping me and I gave it some milk too.

Next was the big animals. There were camels, buffaloes, ponies, donkeys ,kangaroos, koalas and many more. My favorite were the kangaroos. When I feed them with food they put their soft nose in on my hands and chomp happily. A big kangaroo with an auburn coat kept asking me for more food but I didn't give it any. Then, the kangaroo did something that truly surprised me. It put its front paws on me and begged for food while looking at the paper bag full of food. The kangaroo was so adorable that I couldn't say no to him. I smiled and gave him a handful. The kangaroo babies were even more cute!!! They hopped around and one actually picked up a brown bag and started chewing it!!! I guess it was made out of hay or something.

Time went by quickly and eventually, we had to go. I said good-bye to the animals and promised to visit them again.
